Mexico City
2017
Its easy to write this with a bit of hindsight, but in 2017 I was in a bit of a funk. With my 32nd birthday approaching and recently single, I didn’t want to sit around NYC feeling sorry for myself. After chatting with someone at a party on Sunday night about their recent trip to Mexico City, I got inspired, went home, and spontaneously booked a solo flight for that Thursday morning to explore the city for myself. With only a few days notice, I didn’t have time to overthink or overplan, other than securing a dinner reservation at Pujol. Instead, I just hopped on a plane and explored an incredible city. And as it turned out, my friend Prachi was doing something similar, so we met up for a day of exploration as well.
Traveling solo means I could spend an extra amount of time on photography, lingering somewhere until I got the photo I was looking for, and I took full advantage.
